Merry Christmas with many gifts on trees!

The best night view of Vienna is during the month before Christmas. The city has been decorated by various of lights with many interesting designs. My favorite one is the park in front of Rathaus, where on the trees hang many gifts which shine light!

Austria | Graz(II)- Walking through the medievral courtyards

The architectures in Graz have been preserved really well. It seems the time of this small city stays at the Middle Ages. Many buildings are not only just pretty, but are unique art. Among all, the most fascinating thing to me actually exists behind the streets: there are many medieval courtyards, together with secret galleries and alleys, they form a huge maze inside the city. Following our local guide, we walked into the hidden parts of the city, enjoy the charm of this courtyards-maze.

Golden Autumn in Vienna

The most lovely part of autumn is the color, Vienna is no exception. The parks, rivers, roads are all coated by leaves with autumn-colors: golden yellow, golden orange, and golden red. In this blog, there are no famous sight spots of Vienna, but some photos we took recently when walking in the parks or cycling along the Danube.

My parents in law moved to Singapore not long ago. Last week they sent us a local "autumn" photo. Of course, it is green... So I feel it is already a very lucky thing that I can live in a place with four clear seasons, and be able to see the spring shoots, summer flowers, autumn colors and winter snow.

Austria | Graz(I)-A city even Nopolen did not defeat

Graz is Austria's second largest city. The initial meaning of Graz is "small castle", because the city's most important defense building is the small castle on a hill in the center of the city. Also due to the the wonderful defending position of this castle on the height, Graz was never defeated in military, even if the enemy is Napoleon.

Austria | Vienna wine hiking day

For the wine tasting, it is not necessarily to go to the luxurious chateau. In Autumn when the grapes become ripe, the Viennese vintner will present their new made wine this year, at the cabins all around the vineyards on the hill. People come here, meet friends, drink the new wine, enjoy the scenery, and also exercise during the hiking.

Austria | Viennese old apartments telling stories

In the past year I have wandered around the wide and narrow streets in Vienna, used my camera to capture the apartment buildings where ordinary people live. These apartments witnessed the glorious industrial modernization in nineteenth century, also suffered artillery bombardment during the World War II. Let us listen, these old apartments are telling stories about the past time in Vienna.
